Although most of our work involves intense hours at the computer, we enjoy site visits to wineries and vineyards in order to remain inspired. A visit to the Okanagan Valley has already prompted the vision for an upcoming VinMap: "Wine Regions of the Okanagan".

We are also able to gather detailed geographic information out in the field using GPS technology for wineries and vineyards.

Not surprisingly, wine tasting remains a large part of our field work!

Hedges Cellars

In 2003 we created our ‘Vineyards of Washington, Red Mountain’ map. Located in the southeastern flank of the Yakima Valley American Viticultural Area, this hotbed of high quality wine grapes is home to some of the State’s finest vineyards.

Hedges Cellars came to us to help them map their Estate Vineyard to the block level. These maps enabled the vineyard manager to more easily communicate to clients. In addition to being useful tools, the maps are also aesthetically pleasing.

A year later VinMaps was commissioned by Hedges to create a map of the Bel’Villa Vineyard.

Hedges Cellars was able to realize the benefits and value of being able to show their vineyard information in an easy to understand and geographically accurate format.

Hedges Cellars is now a reseller of the original ‘Vineyards of Washington, Red Mountain’ map at their Issaquah tasting room.

Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars

Pepper Bridge Winery approached VinMaps with the idea of customizing the ‘Pacific Northwest Wine Regions, Walla Walla Valley’ map for their new tasting room in Walla Walla. The color scheme of their new tasting room was similar to a Tuscan villa. We were able to work with them to come up with a color scheme on our Walla Walla VinMap that suited the décor of their winery.

In fact, we came up with two separate maps for them to review. They liked both of them so much that they decided to purchase both and additionally, resell them in their tasting room. These maps are aptly named: Tuscan Sun and Cabernet.

These specialized map products, complete with winery labels, adorn and are sold at both the Pepper Bridge Winery and their sister winery Amavi Cellars.
