VinMaps™ was started in 2001 in order to fulfill a growing interest in high quality wine territory maps.

Each VinMap's focus (whether AVA, DOC or country) is a manifestation of thorough research, development, and design.

The VinMaps passion is represented through distinctive, majestic, geographic landscapes with the hope of encouraging further depth, texture and exploration of the wine experience.

Through spatial relationships between wine grape and place, a unique perspective and understanding may be realized. Not to mention, this results in really beautiful maps!

Suzi Surbey

Suzi has been working in the geography field, specifically in GIS (geographic
information systems) since before graduating in 1993 with a degree in Geography from San Diego State University.

Suzi has worked and served as technician, analyst, to Director of Information Systems in both the private and public sector.  Her professional experience has run the gamut of editing and mapping data for environmental consulting and engineering firms, to serving a 14 member, joint powers authority, creating analysis based maps to holding information technical advisory committee meetings. She has also held GIS training seminars for various clients.  Suzi has been a freelance consultant since 1996, with particular emphasis on viticultural mapping beginning in the year 2000.  A trip to Burgundy, France started this latest adventure in mapping.
